I’m reading just as fast as I can

I’m reading just as fast as I can to do all the books I have to review for you. I was working on 4, and got two more in the last days!  Here’s what you have to look forward to:

Unplugged Play- Lots of games for various ages WITHOUT electricity. Organized by age and style of play! I’m please that unlike most books which only recommend a few games for the very young ones, this one has tons for toddlers too!

Last Child in the Woods- Is a "nature deficiency" to blame for disturbing childhood ailments such as obesity, attention problems, and even depression?

How to Get your Child to Love Reading- Wow this lady knows her books. Besides book ideas for any topic you can imagine she also tells you ways to promote and reward reading (without pizza!)

How Come? Planet Earth- We all wonder certain things about this world, why is a rainbow formed in an arch? Answer your questions, and your kids, with this book!

Baby Signing 1-2-3 – A book about sign and how (and when) to use them with your baby!

And the soon to be released The Real Deal Guide to Pregnancy- a fun look at pregnancy. I just got this one, and it’s due to release the first week of March. I cracked it open to peer inside and opened right to the most amazing sounding recipe! I can’t wait to see what else this book has to offer!

So stay tuned. And the reviews will be popping up soon!

Chlorine No More

If you live anywhere near the city like me you probably have it,chlorinated, city water.  We all know to buy filters for our drinking water, but did you know that studies have shown your body can absorb just as much chlorine from taking a bath! Just think, those relaxing baths you take to “get away from it all” and really just filling you up, with chlorine and chemicals!  I knew our water was in need of help, when you take a bath you could literally smell the chlorine in the entire bathroom. When I went in search of a solution I found CuZn! CuZn makes an easy to use “Bath Ball” that filters water as it goes out of the faucet and into the tub! It is so easy to set-up. My ball came at about 5:25 and at 5:30 I had it hooked up and was taking a bath! Looking at the picture they provide it appears to be floating in air, I assure you it isn’t, but it is the next best thing. They use a clear jelly plastic strap to simply hang it from the faucet. Just hang it, make sure it is centered so all the water goes through the filter, and POW filtered bath water!

It is very easy to use. Every once in awhile I need to readjust it, but chances are that is user error on my part, and it only takes a second to adjust. It does cause the tub to fill a little slower, but it doesn’t take all night or anything. It’s actually handy. Start the tub, go to gather a towel, strip off the baby’s diaper, and when you come back it’s ready.

When I started to use mine it took a few times to really begin to filter out all the chlorine. I could tell a difference, but the chlorine was still there. That is because of how the filter works. My water was so bad that it just took a little extra. How extra you ask? Well by bath number three I could drink the water without tasting a hint of chlorine, the smell was completely gone, and there was NO burning eyes.

I can’t say how much we love this filter. Blu used to hate having his hair washed, if even a drop of water got in his eyes the chlorine would burn so much, but now he will dump water on his own head! Our skin is moister and less flaky. I don’t freak out if he drinks bath water, he loves to drink out of anything even partially resembling a cup, so preventing him from drinking is hard.

The CuZn Bath Ball uses a unique Copper and Zinc filter that looks like hard metal cotton stuffing. The filter will do about 20,000 gallons, or about one year at one bath a day. It can last longer  (or shorter) by having a different amount of bathers, very bad water quality, or allowing the disk to dry out. I won’t go into all the science of HOW the filter works, but I’ll simply say IT WORKS! If you are the science type, you can read it on their page.

The Bath Ball is $60, and the filter is only $30. They also have filtering shower heads, our next purchase. If you don’t already have a water filter for your kitchen or whole house, grab one of theirs! Are you spending a  fortune on bottled water for while you are at work or running errands? Check this out! It’s a water bottle with a filter!!

Run by CuZn today to pick up everything you need to provide your family with good, clear, chemical free, water! You can call in you order and tell them we sent you, and save 10%!

Great New Gadgets & More

In the last week I have gotten 3 very neat electronic gadgets. In no particular order they are:

1) The Vapor EZE waterless vaporizer and aromatherapy unit! This thing is awesome!!! Three settings to adjust scent strength, a built in night light, scents to help you sleep, help you be alert, and feel better, and it’s very energy efficient! I’m hooked!

2) The ItzBeen timer! This gadget it great. How many times as a parent is your child crying and you start by saying "How long has it been since he was fed/changed/slept?" This great gadget keeps track of it. A night light and display back light (that work separately) for those middle of the night feedings and changings. And it’s so lightweight that even clipped to loose pj pants it doesn’t make your pants keep falling down! It’s got LOTS of great built in features too!

Stayed tuned for a longer more detailed review on both!! Written on

3) My new laptop!!! Well new to me, but that’s okay. I love it like it was new.

Also coming very soon will be reviews of the Adiri Natural Nurser, Penelope Peapod, clothes from Lotus Blossom Style and Ltd Chix, shoes from Vincent, and lots more!

Welcome to my Closet New Favorite Shirt

Well it would be in my closet if I didn’t love it SO much that I wear it all the time.

Hot Mama Ink has got to be my new favorite store. I got the Hot Mama Joplin Tee and it really is my new favorite. It is the most comfortable shirt I have ever worn, the material is to die for, and the cut is so fab! The material is a great light weight, super soft cotton material, and the color is superb; not really solid colored, but not really heathered. The great tattoo print makes a statement, but isn’t overdone. It’s a great pull it on and go shirt for the store, a play-date, or even a date date. Wear it out to eat, wear it to the park, wear it everywhere! And that’s exactly what you’ll do with it! I love mine so much that it rarely makes it out of the laundry and to the closet!

Hot Mama Ink came from a great woman’s desire to have cool clothes that highlighted the roll of “mom.” After partnering with a friend and great tattoo artists (look for their permanent ink work on Janet Jackson, and Bruce Willis) Hot Mama was born! Putting tattoo inspired  graphics on hoodies, tank tops, pants, and my favorite the Tees and the Mermaid Wrap!  Also check out their tattooed pouch style sling, and maternity clothes. My only request, more colors and patterns PLEASEEEE!

Whether you are a hot mom, have a hot mom, or want to be a hot mom one day swing by Hot Mama Ink to grab your new ink. $56 for the Joplin Tee, which is usually more then I pay for a shirt, but I promise it is worth it! Treat yourself, you’re worth it.
